Saw 2004

Saw is a horror movie that was released in 2004 and was directed by James Wan. The main premise of the movie revolves around someone named the Jigsaw killer, who kidnaps people who aren't grateful to be alive and puts them in traps that make them fight for their life. The main characters are Dr. Gordon Lawrence played by Cary Elwes and Adam Faulkner-Stanheight, played by Leigh Whannell. After the first movie, the series branched off into a franchise, coming up on 11 movies in 2025.

The uncut verion of Saw recently re-released in theaters for its 20th anniversary, and I was luckily able to go see it. Let me tell you-- chainshipping on the big screen is truly life changing.

In the words of my favorite tweet ever: "i'm crying gay people will watch anything and latch onto it why the fuck is there a saw 2004 fandom"

Adam

Adam, along with Lawrence, is the main protaganist of the original Saw movie. Over the course of the movie, Adam and Lawrence's relationship expands until it meets its climax at the end. At the end of the movie, which is the most memorable part for most people, Lawrence saws (heh) off his own foot to escape, but not before holding Adam and talling him that "everything will be alright," and "I wouldn't lie to you" (spoiler alert-- he did). I LOVE that scene; it's my favorite in the whole series. The way Adam holds on to Larry's shirt, desperate for the older man to stay with him and to not leave, while Larry tries his best to comfort and reassure Adam that he'll be okay... Peak yaoi.

Adam, much like all the characters I have a fascination with, is (in my opinion) transgender. I mean, look at his fit. The t-shirt and baggy jeans radiate t-boy swag to me (I'm projecting). I'm going to make a sticker that says "I got my top surgery done in the Saw (2004) bathroom." Actually, that probably already exists...
